RUTH ANNA BRYANT, 39, of Little Rock, and her sister MichelleGraves of Marianna, Ark., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 22, 2013.

Ruth leaves behind her loving husband, Corey Bryant; her daughter, Emilee Hagewood, herson, Caden Bryant; and many close friends and relatives. She is survived by her mother, Sandra Graves, and her brothers, Michael and Nathaniel Graves. She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Graves and her brother, Jon Graves.

Ruth was born on June 4, 1974, in West Plains, Missouri, to Arthur and Sandra Graves. As a child she spent many summers with her family enjoying the natural beauty of the Spring River. She graduated Highland High in 1991 and moved to Little Rock, Arkansas.

In 1994 she started her career in the insurance industry with Arkansas Blue Cross. After 19 years of service her expertise and reputation led her to numerous sales and leadership awards. She truly took pride in her job and enjoyed helping others.

Spending time with her family and friends was her greatest passion. She also enjoyed traveling the world and reading novels on the sandy beaches in Mexico. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend to many. She will be greatly missed, but she will always have a special place in our hearts.

ROWLAND THOMAS “TOMMY” COLEMAN, 89, of Little Rock formerly of Newport, departed this life Thursday, December 26, 2013.

He was born April 3, 1924, to William and Gertrude (Pyle) Coleman. He was a USMC veteran and a member of the Faith Missionary Baptist Church, and he loved working in his yard, being outside and spending time with his granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce Arlene Coleman; seven brothers, Julius, O`Neal, Floyd, Lloyd, Hale, Sidney and Billy Coleman; son-in-law, Eric Bell.

Survivors are one daughter; Deborah Bell of Little Rock; sister, Ava Young of North Little Rock; and granddaughter, Erin Elizabeth Bell of Little Rock; and his cats Socks and Tiger.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013, at Dillinger Chapel. Burial will be in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

JIMMY W. HINSON, 74, of North Little Rock, passed into an eternityin Heaven on December 25, 2013. Jim was born in Gravel Ridge, Ark., on April 28, 1939, to Samuel G. Hinson and Pauline Henry Hinson. His parents and brother, Jerry D. Hinson of North Little Rock,preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 34 years, Margarett, daughter Dorothy Hinson Northern (Steven Ross) of Memphis and son David (Judi) Shipps of North Little Rock, mother-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends who will miss his smile and unique sense of humor.

Jim was an Eagle Scout, gourmet cook, master poker player, member of Elks Lodge and Liberty Fellowship Church, North Little Rock, former retired Chief Financial Officer for the Arkansas Department of Human Services and retired Chief Financial Officer and active board member for Arkansas Enterprises for the Developmentally Disabled, Inc.

A man with a big heart and love for children, Jim was also affectionately known and dressed as Santa Claus to many children across the Little Rock/North Little Rock area. It was only fitting that he died on Christmas Day.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be on Monday, December 30, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Roller Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. CABOT - Shirley Earnestine Hardy, born December 18, 1935 in Poplar Bluff, Mo. departed this life on December 26, 2013. Shirley is preceded in death by daughter, Brenda Lee Oldham, her parents William Amos and Mattie Marie Ward, 3 brothers William (Bill) Laverne, Raymond Amos and Richard Michael (Mick) and one sister Imogene (Jeannie) Christine Mueller.

She is survived by her lovinghusband of 59 years Homer Ray Hardy. Daughters Linda Mc-Craw (Rick) of North Little Rock, Debbie Hardy (David Pool) of Little Rock, Dawn Hardy (DJ) of Ft. Smith and one son Freddie Hardy (Cindy) of Bryant, Ark., 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Lois Mitchum of Pontoon Beach, Ill. and Kay Wiedeman of Madison, Ill ., numerous family members, friends and the many children that came to know her as Momma Hardy.

CROSSETT - Thomas Franklin “Tom” Childers, of Crossett, Ark., went to be with our Lord at age 99 on December 25, 2013 at his daughter’s residence in Ovilla, Texas. Survivors include his wife of 78 years, Dorothy Clark Childers of Ovilla, Texas; one son, Thomas Glen Childers (Ann) of Crossett, Ark.; one daughter, Rita Jones (Albert) of Ovilla, Texas; seven grandsons; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and one niece, Edna Watt of Crossett, Ark.

EL DORADO - Frank McWilliams, age 97, died on December 26, 2013, in El Dorado. Predeceased by his wife Mary Cornelia. He graduated from University of Arkansas, served in WWII and many years in the Army Reserves, retiring as Lt. Colonel, and practiced accounting for over 60 years.

FAIRFIELD BAY - Terry L. Tice, 64, of Fairfield Bay, Ark., joined Jesus on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013. Hewas born June 25, 1949, in Sioux City, Iowa, to William “Bill” and Lavon E. (Brouillette) Tice.

He married Dale Green on Sept. 18, 2004, and they made their home in Fairfield Bay, Ark.

He loved the outdoors hunting, fishing and the lake. Terry had a lifelong love of cars, especially loved his little “car.” He also loved to ride motorcycles, and over the last few years, could be seen going to church in his “car” aka Club Car. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus. Terry was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and served in Vietnam of which he was very proud of his service to his country. He displayed his flag with pride and never left home without his veteran cap. Above all was his love of God. He never missed church and enjoyed going to other Catholic churches when he traveled. All travel plans started with locating the closest churches and finding out mass times. His love, laughter and wit will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Lillian Tice, and Elmer and Evelyn Brouillette; and father-in-law, Oran Green.

He is survived by his loving wife of nine years, Dale Tice of the home; parents, William “Bill” and Lavon Tice of Fairfield Bay, Ark.; daughter, Charity Luyet and husband Jimmy of Conway, Ark.; son, Ryan Tice and wife Amanda of Fairfield Bay, Ark.; stepdaughter, Leslie Saravia and husband Willy of Southlake, Texas; eight grandchildren, James, Emily, William, and Samuel Luyet, Elaine, Malory, Billy, and Garrett Tice; one stepgrandson, Mason Speers; sister, Sue Carruth and husband Mike; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and many close friends, and mother-in-law.

FORDYCE - Floyd D. Lansdale, 94, of Fordyce, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, at the Dallas County Medical Center in Fordyce. He was born June 22, 1919, in Warren, Ark. He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd A. Lansdale and Myrtle Smith Lansdale; and his wife of 60 years, Barbara Lucas Lansdale.

Floyd was a veteran of World War II. He joined the Army Air Force in August 1941 and was an aerial engineer on B25s and B26s. He was a charter member of the Fordyce National Guard unit and worked as a full-time employee of the guard for 32 years. He was a member of the American Legion and the EM Lodge 363 for over 60 years. Floyd was an avid bowler, having won the State Senior’s Tournament three times and the National Senior’s Tournament once in New York. He loved golf and was at the Fordyce County Club most every day for 65 years. He also was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church since 1935.

He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Bill Nutt of Fordyce, Gail and Freddie Musgrove of Fordyce; four grandchildren, Bret Nutt of Fordyce, Brady Nutt of Fordyce, Meredith Whitaker of Ruston, La., and Mitchell Musgrove of Fordyce; and 14 great-grandchildren.

LONOKE - Bennie Ray Schafer, of Lonoke, Ark., passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, at the age of 71.

Bennie Ray loved his family and had a long list of friends. He enjoyed his time with nature, a lifetime of numerous dogs and time tending to his cows. Mr. Schafer grew up in Lonoke and graduated from Lonoke High School and continued his education at UCA in Conway with a B.S. in biology. He married and had two daughters, Mrs. Callie Caldwell married to David Caldwell of Lonoke, and Mrs.Jennifer Merriman married to Keith Merriman of Memphis, Tenn.

Bennie Ray farmed fish with his brother Jerry Schafer in north Lonoke. His sister Cindy Jackson and her husband Jim loved him very much and they cared for him until his last breath. He is survived by his grandchildren William Merriman, Ben Merriman, Winston Merriman, Maddie Grace Merriman, Judson Caldwell and Jude Caldwell; his brother, Jerry Schafer (Nellie Ann); nephew, Neil Schafer; and grand-nephew, Dereck Schafer. He is also survived by his nephews, Chris Jackson, Brandon Jackson; and niece, Leeza Jackson. BennieRay’s kind spirit will be greatly missed.

MAGNOLIA - Josephine Anderson Hunter, 73, of Magnolia, Ark .,passed away Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, at her home in Magnolia.

She was born on Jan. 24, 1940, in Nevada County, Ark., to the late Matthew Calvin Anderson and Dovie Irene(Loe) Anderson. She was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Magnolia for 52 years, a Magnolia Welcome Wagon member for six years, Magnolia Credit Club member for four years, and New Sounds Family Gospel Singers for five years. She was employed by W. Shanhouse and Sons for 10 years, Peace Flooring for two years, Talbot’s Dept. Store part-time for three years, J.A. West Company (Buyer’s Guide) for three years, Firestone Tire Store Credit Manager for two years, Smitty’s General Office (Accounting) for 20 years, and Magnolia Monument Company for two years.

She is preceded in death by her parents Matthew and Dovie Anderson; twin brothers, Autry and Auzy Anderson; and a sister Ola Mae Anderson Vines.

Josephine is survived by her husband, Lenard R. Hunter, whom she married on Jan. 1, 1959, and was married to for 54 years; two daughters, Lenarda Joyce “Lynn” Aydani and husband Dawood, and Jacqueline Renee Boothe; a son John-Michael Hunter and wife Lorie all of Magnolia; three brothers, Wesley T. Anderson and wife JoAnn of McNeil, Ark., Willie P. Anderson of Magnolia, Ernest A. Anderson of Texarkana, Texas; two sisters, Geneva Sue Rawls of Waldo, Ark.; Floy Faye Jackson of Texarkana, Texas; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, at 2 p.m. at First United Pentecostal Church in Magnolia with Pastor Jason Wylie and Pastor Dwayne Dycus officiating. MARIANNA - Shelia Michelle Graves, 35, of Marianna, Ark., wasdeceased on the evening of Dec. 22, 2013, along with her sister, Ruth Anna Hagewood Bryant of Little Rock, Ark. Shelia Michelle was born at Ft. Campbell, Ky., on Feb. 21, 1978.

Shelia Michellewas a hard-working homemaker and a mother of three. She is survived by her son, Spencer Graves (19), son, Tanner Shipp (15), and daughter, Adrianna Shipp (6). Also she is survived by her children’s father, Shane Shipp of Jonesboro, Ark.; her mother Sandra Graves of Marianna, Ark.; her two brothers, Michael Graves of Magnet Cove, Ark., and Nathaniel Graves of Childress, Texas; as well as many close friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father Arthur Graves of Harrison, Ark., and her brother Jon Graves of Hardy, Ark. Shelia Michelle’s main joy in life was her children, who served as a constant source of inspiration, and they request your prayers, support and encouragement. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

SEARCY - Billy Ray Roberts, age 76, of Searcy, died Thursday, December 26, 2013 in Searcy. He was born June 29, 1937 at Coffeeville,Mississippi to Luther and Eddie Roberts. Billy was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, member and past President of the Searcy Lions Club, and served in the U.S. Navy as a Corpsman stationed with the U.S. Marines.

He is survived by his wife, Georgia Roberts of the home; one son, Jeff Roberts and wife Kim of Searcy; two sisters, Alice Landreth, of Coffeeville, Elsie Harrison and husband George of Coffeeville; and three grandchildren, Molly Roberts, Cody Roberts, and Maggie Roberts. He is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Luke Roberts.

SEARCY - Dee Windle Thomas, 79, of Searcy, went to be with his Lord and Savior December 27 at White County Medical Center. He was born February 5, 1934 in Damascus, Arkansas to the late Delmer and May Evans Thomas.

He was a gentle, kind man who was loved by all who knew him. He was a great inspiration to his family and loved them with all his heart. He was a Master Mason at the Searcy Lodge. He was of the Baptist faith and served as a Deacon and a Sunday school teacher much of his life. He worked for Colonial Bread Company for over 40 years. He loved spending time with his family. He also loved to hunt, fish, and antique.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dimple Thomas; one son, Mike Thomas and wife, Terri of Beebe, Arkansas; one daughter, Chrystal Royborn of Searcy; nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Candy Thomas Clevenge.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 atGriffin Leggett Funeral Home, 10200 Hwy 5 North, Alexander, Ark. Visitation: 4-6 p.m. Saturday Dec. 28, 2013 at Arlington Funeral Home, Arlington, Texas.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers Lois preferred donations be made to her church. Lois was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas.

Mrs. Lane was born on January 7, 1928 in Ashley County, Ark. where she was raised and received her early education. Lois graduated from Hamburg High School as a member of its 1946 class. One of her great joys was returning for her class reunions and seeing old friends and family. Lois married the love of her life, Roy Lynn Lane, on August 31, 1952 and spent the next 56 years by his side. During their marriage, six children which they loved very much entered their lives. She enjoyed gardening, photography, ceramics, traveling with Roy in their RV, making new friends. Though she had many personal interests, her primary goal in life was making sure her family had all that they needed to besuccessful in life. Her “You can do it” attitude always made everyone feel that they could! Family, friend, or stranger, everyone she met in life was precious to her.

Mrs. Lane was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lynn Lane, daughter, Phyllis Lane Hurlburt, mother and father, Mary Magdelene “Anna” and Thomas Fulton Brantley, Sr., brothers, Louis Brantley, Ralph Brantley, Edmond Brantley, Walter Brantley, sisters, Mary Ruffino, Thelma Griffin, Willa Edna Jackson, and Margurite Bohannan.

Her Church family will certainly miss her as their church librarian, with her smiling face and encouraging words to everyone she met!

Lois will be missed by all who know her but particularly by her children, Doris Lane Woodruff, Judy Lynn Williams, Barry Lane, Terry Lane, Alan Lane, as well as, her sister, Mollie Thomas; the many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; great neighbors; cousins and friends, from so many parts of her life, will miss her but remember how their lives were touched by this wonderful woman.
