Little Rock firefighters worked to end a blaze that ignited in an abandoned building behind the Embassy Suites hotel Sunday afternoon.

About 12:55 p.m., the fire department's spokesman Capt. Jason Weaver said authorities received reports of the blaze that started adjacent to the Embassy Suites hotel, which is located at 11301 Financial Center Parkway. Little Rock police also responded to the fire.

No injuries have been reported, Weaver said. Firefighters had to cut a section of a fence that separated the deserted building and the hotel to get to the fire. The abandoned building is at a "total loss," he said.

It was not immediately clear how the fire started, however witnesses told authorities that they had seen people carrying unidentified objects from the abandoned building earlier in the day, Weaver said.

An investigation is ongoing.
