SPORTS CALENDAR BASEBALL

!" McDonald County (Mo.) High School is hosting a six-week baseball camp starting Jan. 25.

McDonald County baseball coach Nick Martin will direct the program in conjunction with U.S. Baseball Academy. Classes are available for players in grades 1-12 and are limited to six players per coach.

Sessions are offered in advanced hitting, pitching, catching, fi elding and baserunning. Proceeds from the program benefit amateur baseball in Anderson, Mo. Space is limited.

!"Lowell First Baptist Church and and Rogers 1st Church of the Nazarene are partnering again this year to offer Upward Basketball/ Cheerleading to all of the youth of NWA. This league is open to boys and girls ages 5 through eighth grade. Early registration cost for basketball or cheerleading is $75. CHEERLEADING

!"The Bentonville High School cheerleaders will hold a clinic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 11 at the school’ east and west auxiliary gyms. The clinic is open for grades one through seven, with Tigers cheerleaders and coaches providing the instruction.

Those attending the clinic will also perform at a Bentonville basketball game on Jan. 17. Cost of the clinic is $50, with proceeds helping the Bentonville cheerleaders attend theOrlando, Fla. Contact Tracy Kaufman at tkaufman@bentonvillek12.org.

LACROSSE

!"The Northwest Arkansas Lacrosse Club has announced that due to high enrollment demand registration for the 2014 season has been extended until Jan. 3. The NWA club currently offers lacrosse for grades 3-12. Anyone interested in enrolling their child should go to www.nwalacrosse.com for more information. The NWA Lacrosse Club manages both a varsity and junior varsity program for high school boys and girls as well as programs for both boys and girls.

!"The eighth-annual RAZOR Fitness Winter Sports Medicine Symposium takes place Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Graduate Education Building on the University of Arkansas campus. The symposium is open to students, professors, coaches, teachers, physicians, physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Speakers include Lenny Macrina of Champion Sports Medicine in Birmingham, Ala., and R.J. Elbin, assistant professor of exercise science at the University of Arkansas. The symposium is presented by the Graduate Athletic Training Education program at the University of Arkansas and Advanced Orthopaedic Specialists in Fayetteville. The Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy and the national Board of Certifi cation for Athletic Training have approved 8 continuing education unitsfor attendance. Cost varies by profession. !"The University of Arkansas Track Officials’ Association will host a free track and fi eld offi ciating clinic on Saturday, Jan. 4, at the Randall Tyson Indoor Track in Fayetteville. Rules and offi ciating procedures for all events will be covered. Anyone interested in learning more about offi ciating track and field is welcomed to attend. The clinic will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

!"Rogers Activity Center registration for the 2013-14 Youth Wrestling Program is currently being taken at the Rogers Activity Center and online at www.rogersarkansas.

com/recreation. Boys and girls ages 6-18 are eligible to participate. Cost for registration is $65 and includes USA wrestling membership card and a club shirt. Each participant must have a current RAC membership ($20). The membership is current for one year from the date of purchase.
