An application that allows users to find their misplaced smart devices helped lead Little Rock police to a large amount of stolen property on Monday evening.

Officers responded to a burglary at 4:43 p.m. at 7 St. Charles Court, where the victims told them that several electronic items were stolen, including three flat-screen televisions, two laptops and an Apple iPad II, Little Rock Police Department spokesman Lt. Sidney Allen said in a statement. During the investigation, one of the victims informed officers that the “Find My iPhone” app was installed on the iPad and could help police locate the the device.

At 8:02 p.m., the victims told police the app had located the tablet in the area of Wright Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard, Allen said. Officers searched the area and found a man, later identified as 20-year-old Dewon Williams of Little Rock, holding what appeared to be two laptops. Upon approaching Williams, Williams gave the items to the officers and attempted to flee on foot.

A second man, Malcolm Ferrelly, 22, exited a green Pontiac LeMans and attempted to flee with Williams before both were caught. Police found a small bag of marijuana on Farrelly, Allen said, as well as $690 in cash and two bolts that were found to have been taken off one of the stolen flat-screen televisions.

In all, officers were able to recover the iPad, one of the laptops and a remote from one of the televisions from the robbery and returned the items to the victims.

Both men were taken into custody for questioning, and the LeMans was towed away by authorities as part of the investigation. Both men were charged with residential burglary, felony theft of property and fleeing. Williams was also charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

I love it!!!!!!!!!! If these idiots could read or ever watch TV, they would know about the technology that's out there today. You ought to shoot them just to take them out of the gene pool.
