Sebastian County prosecutor to head Arkansas group

FORT SMITH — Sebastian County's prosecuting attorney will start serving as the president of the Arkansas Prosecuting Attorneys Association this week.

The Southwest Times Record reported that Dan Shue will start in the new position Wednesday.

Shue has served on the association's board for four years and became prosecuting attorney for the 12th Judicial District in Sebastian County on Jan. 1, 2009. Shue replaces past president Marc McCune, who is Crawford County's prosecuting attorney in the 21st Judicial District.

Shue served as the association's vice president for 2013.

The group will hold its fall conference in Fort Smith in October.

Shue said he looks forward to holding joint training sessions with attorney associations in Oklahoma, Texas, Tennessee and other surrounding states.
