FORREST CITY — Highway officials say the Arkansas 149 overpass that crosses Interstate 40 has reopened near Forrest City.
The highway department said Thursday that crews repaired a failure in the shoring of an embankment. The fault appeared Jan. 14 where a new overpass is being built.
The $7.5 million construction project is at the Earle exit near Shell Lake on I-40 near Exit 260.
The agency says about 2,000 vehicles use the overpass daily, and nearly half of them are heavy trucks.
