2 houses burn in Mayflower

— Two homes burned in Mayflower and firefighters worked to keep a third structure from being consumed.

The Sunday fire resulted in no injuries but fire officials say pets died in the blaze.

There was no immediate word from Faulkner County officials on the cause of the fire, which burned at Mallard Cove.
