2013:Thinner and slimmer the watchwords in dressing

Q. This weekend, when I went to buy a basic black tie to replace the one I have worn at least once a month for years, I found an odd variety of sizes. Most were significantly thinner than mine. Is this the current style or just one store’s (or one season’s ) retro ’80s look?
