CBS' Late Show with David Letterman will feature Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest winners, including an Arkansas native, as a part of its "Elvis Week."

Cody Ray Slaughter, the 21-year-old Elvis impersonator from Harrison, will start the week-long tribute Monday.

Slaughter was the 2011 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist, the youngest to win the award, which began in 2007, according to the official site of the king of rock 'n' roll.

The contest page says the winner earns the "ultimate" title, recognition by Elvis Presley Enterprises, $20,000 cash and other prizes. The contest is judged on four criteria: vocals, style, stage wear and stage presence.

Slaughter's website says the tribute artist began his entertainment career at age 13. Slaughter has performed in theaters across the country, including Branson's Tony Rio's Elvis Experience, Legends in Concert, 50's At The Hop and The Liverpool Legends. Slaughter also headlined the Tennessee Shindig in Pigeon Forge at the age of 17.

Slaughter has been a part of England's Elvis Easter Spectacular and is said to be returning this year. He also appeared on Fox Television's New Year's Rockin' Eve in December.

Slaughter currently plays Elvis in the Broadway show The Million Dollar Quartet, which refers to Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash. The name was given to the recordings the four artists made Dec. 4, 1958, at Sun Record Studios in Memphis.

The Late Show with David Letterman airs weeknights beginning at 10:35 p.m. Central time.

I saw Cody the first time when he was a young teen, and at first I honestly thought he was lip-syncing. He is that good.
