Beebe to address meeting of Sheriff’s Association

LITTLE ROCK — Gov. Mike Beebe is to be the featured speaker at the winter convention of the Arkansas Sheriff’s Association.
Beebe is to speak to the group at a west Little Rock hotel at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
It was two years ago that Beebe signed into law a package of changes in sentencing for lesser criminal offenses in an effort to combat prison overcrowding. There has been no move in the current session to make major changes to the sentencing law.
