House opens first immigration hearing

By The Associated Press

This article was published February 5, 2013 at 10:33 a.m.

— The chairman of the House Judiciary Committee said the nation’s immigration system is “in desperate need of repair” as he opened Congress’ first hearing on immigration.

The session Tuesday comes as President Barack Obama pushes for swift action to pass immigration legislation.

But the Judiciary chairman, Republican Bob Goodlatte of Virginia, cautioned against a “rush to judgment” and said each piece of the issue must be examined in detail.

Goodlatte said there are lots of questions about how any large-scale legalization program would work, how much it would cost and how it would prevent illegal immigration in future.

Obama supports a pathway to citizenship for 11 million illegal aliens already in the country, something many Republicans oppose.

First, anaylyze the 1986 Immirgation Act of 1986 to see why it failed?
It gave amnesty to millions of illegals and that did not stop another 12 million from coming here.
What is the cost effect? On Medicad, taxes re unearned income refunds, education, then decide how best to solve. Review the policies and procedures in Japan, China and the Philippines, countries tha know what they are doing regarding immigration.

Why does our president have such a problem with American Law? Does he not know what illegal means? Who has been paying for all these 11 million illegals? The working people of America. They have contributed nothing and Obama wants to give them a free ride. He is rewarding them for breaking the law. No wonder the rest of the world laughs at us with a leader like this.Send them back. Try getting 11 million illegals into countries like Mexico for example. You go to jail there or in China. We need someone like Bobby Kennedy who had the guts to enforce the American Laws and not a man that caves in to all this non-sense. What do you expect from someone who doesn't even want the Amer. Flag on Air Force One?
