— A detour for drivers heading west on Interstate 40 east of Hazen has been lifted and the highway is open again, officials with the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said.

Crews closed the highway for more than three-and-a-half hours to remove a tractor-trailer that went off the highway late Sunday night and got stuck in water alongside the White River. Workers also made repairs to a guardrail that was heavily damaged in the accident.

The westbound interstate closed about 9 a.m. and reopened about 12:45 p.m. Traffic was rerouted for that time onto U.S. 70.
