Man held in Dunkin Donuts, gas station robberies

— A man suspected of holding up a Dunkin Donuts and a gas station in Little Rock has been arrested.

Little Rock Police Department Sgt. Cassandra Davis said in an e-mail that Mario Hammonds, 27, turned himself in Monday on two counts of aggravated robbery and two counts of theft of property. Jail records show he remained in the Pulaski County jail Tuesday morning with bail set at $100,000.

Davis said Hammonds was charged in the Jan. 31 robbery of the Dunkin Donuts at 6805 Cantrell Road and the Jan. 30 robbery of the Shell Superstop at 7400 Cantrell Road.

The robber was armed with a handgun in both cases.

Davis said Hammonds is also a suspect in the Jan. 30 armed robbery of a Little Rock Comfort Inn. She said additional charges are possible.
