Abortion coverage ban gets panel's backing

By The Associated Press

This article was published February 6, 2013 at 11:05 a.m.

— A Senate panel has approved legislation that would ban insurers in the exchange created under the health-care law from covering abortions, while the sponsor of a ban on abortions past 20 weeks says he’s facing resistance to his proposal.

By a 5-2 vote, the Senate Public Health, Welfare and Labor Committee on Wednesday endorsed legislation that would bar abortion coverage in the insurance exchange, except for cases of rape, incest and the life of the mother.

The measure has already passed the House and heads to the Senate for a vote.

The sponsor of a separate proposal that would ban abortions 20 weeks into a pregnancy is delaying on presenting his bill over concerns from Democrats on the panel about the proposal’s lack of exemptions for rape and incest.

so how do these god fearing morons propose to pay for the huge increase of demand on social services caused by the birth of these unwanted babies ? oh yeah, i forgot. their next item on gods agenda is to dismantle social services entirely. but since the churches can now arm themselves and every citizen (or criminal) can buy all the assault weapons and ammo they can carry it's all academic.

Do legislators here in Arkansas actually believe voters elected them to be STUPID? Voters actually expect them to promote ideas and policies that benefit the majority of the State's population NOT those companies contributing to their campaigns.

Didn't know we had so many doctors in the ledge. They know more about a womans body than real live women do and they are willing to shove MANmade objects into their bodies to prove this. They go back home on the weekends and get their teebagger pep talk and return on Monday with more stoopid crap to propose as laws and send the state to court to defend their stoopidity........God help them and us too!!!
