Police in Benton say they arrested a burglar at the Saline County Road Department after responding to an alarm there early Thursday.

The agency says 40-year-old Homer Smith is facing charges including commercial burglary, breaking or entering and theft of property. He was booked into the Saline County jail.

According to a news release, officers were dispatched to the road department about 12:40 a.m. Arriving officers reportedly noticed a person with a flashlight inside the main building and then arrested Smith as he tried to flee the premises.

Further investigation revealed a fence around the area had been cut and a smaller storage building had also been broken into.

Police say additional charges against Smith are possible.

How come there's no "description please", "ban hoodies" or other similar comments about THIS burglary? Are ADG commenters from the suburbs less concerned about burglaries IN the suburbs than those in Little Rock proper? Or are they simply attacking the perceived skin color of the LR burglars?
