— 1 MOVIES The Arkansas Symphony and its audiences will spend “A Night at the Movies” - part of the orchestra’s Acxiom Pops Live! series - at 8 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at Robinson Center Music Hall, West Markham Street and Broadway, Little Rock. Philip Mann will conduct music from Captain Blood, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Godfather, Mary Poppins, Chariots of Fire, Gladiator, Star Wars and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Co-concertmaster Kiril Laskarov, violin, and tango dancers Malarie and Jeremiah Delavega will be the featured soloists in Tango (Por Una Cabeza), used in, among other films and TV shows, Scent of a Woman, Titanic and True Lies. Bush, goes on display at the 2nd Friday

Art Night reception, 5-8 p.m. Friday, and

during the day Saturday to celebrate the

opening of “Treasures of Arkansas Free

masons, 1838-2013.” The new exhibit,

which runs Friday-July 12, will include

a display of George Washington’s fam

ily Bible throughout its run. Friday also

marks the opening of the contemporary

art exhibit “Phenomena of Change: Lee

Cowan, Mary Ann Stafford and Maria

Botti Villegas,” which continues through

May 5. Admission is free. Hours are 9

the SoMa Mardi Gras Parade with grand

marshal Warwick Sabin, noon Saturday.

The parade route will travel along South

Main Street between 24th and 12th

Nathaniel Greer will provide music in the

Bernice Garden while area businesses

6 MARLIN The Weekend Theater, West Seventh and Chester streets, Little

Rock, will stage Ain’t Nothing But a

Thang by Marlin T. Tazewell, a raw look

at the problems plaguing a black family (including AIDS, illiteracy,self-hate and drug abuse). It opens this weekend and runs 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through Feb. 23. Tickets are $16, $12 for students and senior citizens 65 and older.

7 MARY, MARK, MINDY Early music titans The Baltimore Consort - Mary Anne Ballard, viols, rebec;

8 MULCH The Pine Bluff Home & Garden Seminar & Show is celebrating 25 years of giving advice with this year’s show, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, at the Pine Bluff Convention Center, 1 Convention Plaza, Pine Bluff.
