HOT SPRINGS — The Style Show for Scholarships benefiting the Garland County Single Parent Scholarship Fund will be presented at noon at the Forest Lakes Clubhouse. Ouachita Sounds Spring Concert
ARKADELPHIA — Ouachita Baptist University will host the 10-member show choir Ouachita Sounds in its spring concert at 7:30 p.m. in the Jones Performing Arts Center. Mardi Gras Party
HOT SPRINGS — Master Illusionist Maxwell Blade will be the master of ceremonies for the Hot Springs Jazz Society’s first Mardi Gras party from 6-10 p.m. in the Old Hot Springs Field House on Orange Street. Blade is an award-winning performer who brings to the stage magic, music and comedy. Music will be by the Spa City Stompers, Sweet Mother and Zydeco Stingrays. BRYANT — A Super Tax Filing Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the CADC Bryant Senior Activity Center, 6401 Boone Road, No. 3. Walk-ins are welcome. Many low-wage workers will qualify for the Earned Income Credit for the first time because their income declined or they became unemployed. Tax refunds through the EIC and the Child Tax Credit can help low- and moderate-income families cover day-to-day expenses such as utilities, rent and child care. Sister City Teacher Scholarships
HOT SPRINGS — The Hot Springs National Park Sister City Foundation will accept applications until March 25 for two teacher scholarships for summer travel to Hanamaki, Japan, Hot Springs’ sister city. Teachers or school administrators currently employed in Garland County public schools are eligible for the program. The scholarship will fully fund travel costs for a seven-day trip to Hanamaki in mid-June. The city of Hanamaki will provide home-stay arrangements, along with tours and educational opportunities. HOT SPRINGS — The Junior Auxiliary of Hot Springs is accepting applications for the 2013 JAHS Scholarship program through March 1.
