Part of Interstate 30 reopens after wreck diverted traffic

An accident in the eastbound lane of Interstate 30 near Malvern diverted traffic for several hours Friday afternoon.

State Police say that a commercial carrier and a "farm-type vehicle" collided near the Social Hill, Malvern area around 2:30 p.m.

Officials say two people suffered injuries, but their conditions were not immediately available.

Officials with the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said the area of I-30 where the accident occurred, near mile-marker 91, reopened shortly after 5 p.m.
