Double shooting in Little Rock investigated

— Police are investigating after a shooting in Little Rock left two people injured, including one who was in critical condition with apparent paralysis from the chest down.

It happened about 4:40 a.m. Saturday at 7102 Colonel Glenn Road.

According to Little Rock Police Department reports, officers responded and first found 28-year-old Marcellus Jones suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, including one on the right shoulder and one on the back of the neck. He was reportedly shot while getting into a car.

Jones was taken to Baptist Health Medical Center, where doctors found he may have been shot as many as five times, the report said. He was listed in critical condition initially, though the report said the injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

Police say Jones was not able to provide any information on the suspects.

A short time later Saturday morning, police were called to the 1900 block of Allis Street, where 25-year-old Donnie Hood was found with a gunshot wound in his right calf.

Police spokesman Sgt. Cassandra Davis said Hood was shot in the same incident on Colonel Glenn and then went to Allis Street. Hood was taken to UAMS Medical Center with injuries described as serious but not life-threatening.
