Winter weather advisory set for parts of north Arkansas

LITTLE ROCK — A winter weather advisory is set to go into effect in more than a dozen counties in north and Northwest Arkansas for a storm capable of dropping up to 3 inches of snow.
The National Weather Service says the wintry weather is likely overnight Tuesday into Wednesday in an area north of a line from Clarksville to Clinton to Ash Flat.
One to 2 inches of snow are expected most places with up to 3 inches in some spots across the far northwest, the agency said in a forecast issued Tuesday morning. Slick conditions that make driving hazardous are possible, especially on elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses, the weather service said.
Some snowflakes are possible mixed with rain further south, but officials say little to no accumulation is expected.
Temperatures are expected to rise quickly Wednesday, melting any snow that does accumulate.
