A Little Rock store that provides specialized running apparel and accessories was sold to a national franchise on Wednesday.
According to a news release, Easy Runner in Little Rock was sold to Fleet Feet Inc. after nearly 17 years of operation.
“It has been my good fortune to have grown a business as the sport of running grew,” Easy Runner owner Gary Smith said. “I have had an amazing group of employees, and we have been passionate about helping our customers achieve their goals."
Smith, who has been involved in the Little Rock running community since 1976, also founded the Firecracker Fast 5k, according to the release.
Fleet Feet Inc. Chief Operating Officer Jeff Phillips said he intends to continue Smith's legacy at the Little Rock location.
"Gary has been a fixture in the Little Rock running community for decades and we will do our best to honor him by continuing to provide a health and wellness resource to the community and an amazing experience for the customer," Phillips said.
The operating partners of the new store, Noelle and Sean Coughlan, bring with them to Little Rock more than 10 years of experience in the specialty running industry, the release states.
