CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. An Arkansas fugitive who was the subject of an intense manhunt is in custody after being captured in southeast Missouri.
Cape Girardeau police arrested three people Thursday night, including Eric Kent of Brookland, Ark. He was wanted on accusations he assaulted a woman in Jonesboro early Wednesday.
The Southeast Missourian reported that Kent was considered so dangerous that those who lived near the search were cautioned to stay in their homes.
Arrested with Kent were his father and a woman.
Cape Girardeau police attempted a traffic stop of a Ford pickup, which fled, prompting a chase. The truck pulled over and the two men ran a short distance before they were caught.
