Two bald eagles poisoned in Logan County

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has launched another investigation into the deaths of bald eagles in the state, this time in Logan County.

A statement from the AGFC states that two eagles were found dead just south of Booneville near the Golden City Church in early December. Tests on the two birds have revealed they were poisoned.

Another eagle was found shot dead near Highland in Pike County earlier this month.

The AFGC is offering $1,000 and the United States Fish and Wildlife Services is offering up to $2,500 for any information that leads to a conviction of those responsible for the crimes.

By law, bald eagles are protected by two wildlife statues - the Bald Eagles Act and Migratory Bird Treaty Act.

Anyone with information may call (800) 482-9262. The identities of those with information will be kept confidential.
