LITTLE ROCK — Patrons of opera and ballet enjoyed “Songs From the Heart,” a dinner and performance by the University of Arkansas at Little Rock opera program at the Governor’s Mansion on Feb. 5.
Guests dined on spinach salad with goat cheese and Mansion spiced pecans, grilled chicken breast with lemon caper sauce and cauliflower and potato puree. Red velvet cake was served for dessert.
Don Bernardini directed the performances by Erica Finnie, Derrick Herman, Ekaterina Kotcherguina, Micheal Lowe, Rachel Manasco, Satia Spencer, Shay Watson, Chris Weaver, Melissa Wilcox, Jessica Williams and Christine Woods. They were accompanied by Kristina Marinova on the piano.
Dancers from the Arkansas Festival Ballet were Emily Karnes and Calvin Chester.
Presented by the UALR Opera Theater program, funds raised benefit the school’s vocal program. Karen Bryan is chairman of the UALR Music Department.
