— A Harrisburg woman was killed Monday after the car she was riding in was struck by the trailer of a semi truck, authorities said.

It happened about 12:40 p.m. as Timothy G. Jarrett, 35, was driving a 2012 Hyundai Sonata east on Arkansas 64 in Crittenden County.

According to a preliminary Arkansas State Police report, the trailer of a westbound 2003 International truck shifted into the eastbound lanes and struck the Sonata.

Jarrett and a passenger, 32-year-old Amy N. Jarrett, were taken to the Regional Medical Center in Memphis. Amy Jarrett died there. Timothy Jarrett's condition wasn't clear.

The truck driver was not injured.

Police say the accident occurred in rainy and windy conditions. The death was the 56th fatality in a crash on Arkansas roads so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
