LITTLE ROCK — A former lieutenant with the Benton Fire Department is facing federal charges after a computer with images of child pornography was recovered from his locker at the fire station, authorities said.
Timothy Ryan Bodkin, 39, made an initial appearance in U.S. District Court on Tuesday on charges of receipt and possession of child pornography. He pleaded innocent.
The U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas said Bodkin was indicted federally this month after investigators last May traced the downloading of illegal images to an Internet protocol address he used.
Investigators obtained a warrant and recovered the laptop from the locker, finding more than 1,000 images of child pornography on it, according to a news release.
Arkansas State Police and the Saline County sheriff's office investigated.
