Overall, gamblers have bought $1.5 billion in tickets, $321 million of which has gone to college scholarships to Arkansas students.

So if I understand the numbers correctly, 67% (1 of 1.5 billion) of sales went to prizes, 21% (321 mill) went to scholarships, and 12% (179 mill) is left for administration, advertising and salaries. Is it worth it? Draw your own conclusions.

Yup Leapster... it's ridiculous! But it's for the scholarships, right? Which of course need to be cut due to ticket sales coming in below projections! Unbelieveably ridiculous!

Many kids are going to college who otherwise could not afford to go. Yes, it was worth it.

Yes many kids are going to college who otherwise could not afford to go -- and the cost goes to those in many cases who can least afford it. Watching those who buy tickets at my local convenience store, it appers they can least afford it -- or shouldn't. And the U of A, Ark Dept of Ed, the Gov and Legislature have no reason to figure out how to lower costs. It all works out so nicely.
