Curtis Coleman

— Little Rock businessman Curtis Coleman has joined the race for the Arkansas Republican gubernatorial nomination, laying out an agenda that includes tax cuts and using public dollars to send students to private schools.

Coleman announced Thursday he was running for governor, becoming the second Republican to announce a bid for the state's highest office. Former Congressman Asa Hutchinson announced last month that he was running.

Democratic Gov. Mike Beebe is term-limited and can't run for re-election next year. Former Lt. Gov. Bill Halter is the only announced Democratic candidate for governor. Halter joined the race after Attorney General Dustin McDaniel, a Democrat, dropped out over questions about an admitted extramarital relationship.

Coleman ran unsuccessfully for the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate in 2010.

Finally a decent candidate that is not a career politician gets in the race. Should be interesting. If you liked Huckabee you should love this guy.
