— 1 CULTURE It’s a well-lighted journey through different cultures as Wildwood Park for the Arts celebrates its annual Lanterns! Festival, Friday-Sunday. This year’s cultures - Asia, The Caribbean, Germany, Ancient Greece, New Orleans, Rio de Janeiro, Shakespearean England and Venice - will be explored through food, music, theater and decorations throughout the park at 20919 Denny Road. 2 CONCERTO Jennifer Higdon, the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra’s composer of the year, will be on hand as the orchestra performs her Concerto for Orchestra in concerts at 8 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at Robinson Center Music Hall, West Markham Street and Broadway, Little Rock. Forthe Masterworks program titled “Truth and Triumph,” Philip Mann will also conduct the Symphony No. 10 by Dmitri Shostakovich. 3 CAMILLE Adam Savacool will solo in the finale of Camille Saint-Saëns’ Organ Symphony with the Little Rock Wind Symphony and conductor Karen Fannin, part of “An Organ Extravaganza!” concert at 7:30 p.m. today at Second Presbyterian Church, 600 Pleasant Valley Drive, Little Rock. Savacool, the church’s organist, will also accompany the ensemble in arrangements of works by Sigfrid Karg-Elert, Haydn Wood, Eugene Gigout and J.S. B Bach. 4 CAMERA The Argenta Film Series will screen the Academy Award-winning documentary Undefeated, which chronicles how volunteer coach Bill Courtney in 2009 turned inner-city Memphis’ Manassas High School’s football team from a perennial doormat into a winner - at 7 p.m. today at the Argenta Community Theater, 405 Main St., North Little Rock. 5 CULTURE Gov. Mike Beebe, former Arkansas legislator Richard Mays, former Little Rock Mayor Lottie Shackelford and Patricia Brown, director of the Arkansas EconomicDevelopment Commission’s Small and Minority Business Development Division, will speak as part of the Governor’s Black History Program, at 10 a.m. today at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, West Ninth Street and Broadway, Little Rock. And speaking of high school football movies, the center’s Family Movie Night, 6 p.m. Friday, will feature a screening of the 2000 film Remember the Titans, starring Denzel Washington. 6 COLLEGE And speaking of documentaries, Pulaski Technical College will screen Towncraft, produced by Arkansas native Burt Taggart, which explores the Little Rock punk rock scene in the late 1980s and early ’90s, at 6 p.m. today in the R.J. 7 CONSTRUCT The Home Builders Association of Greater Little Rock will move in to North Little Rock’s Verizon Arena for the 61st annual Home Show, noon-7 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday. More than 200 vendors will demonstrate new products to make your home spiffier and more efficient. Therewill also be experts on hand to answer questions and host seminars.
