TRAFFIC ALERT: Restrictions set at I-430/I-630 in LR

— One traffic restriction is in effect Friday and another is planned for several days next week at the Interstate 430-630 interchange in west Little Rock.

A temporary lane closure will be in effect through 3 p.m. Friday while crews will remove a concrete barrier on the west side of southbound I-430 between I-630 and the Shackleford Road overpass.

Drivers using the I-630 westbound ramp to I-430 southbound will have to merge sooner than normal, and drivers exiting I-430 to Shackleford will be directed by barrels, the agency said.

The closure is part of work to reconstruct the ramp from Hermitage and Shackleford roads to southbound I-430. The restriction had been scheduled for Thursday, but it was delayed because of weather.

Then next week, crews will work on pavement markings in the area, requiring mobile lane closures between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. The work will be conducted throughout the ongoing interchange project and its associated ramps and merge lanes as well as nearby Shackleford Road and Financial Centre Parkway.

The Highway Department says motorists should use extra caution through the construction zone.
