Severe thunderstorms have left more than 2,000 people in the Little Rock area without power Monday afternoon.
Entergy Arkansas reports on its website that the largest failure occurred around the Hillcrest neighborhood, where more than 1,500 customers are without power. This power failure spans east of Reservoir Road and south of Cantrell Road to Coolidge Street.
An additional 497 customers lost power about 4:42 p.m. after high winds swept through the area, Entergy officials said. This power failure stretches from Interstate 630 south to Fletcher Road, as far west as Frazier Park and as far east as Fourche Dam Pike.
A statement on the company's website says Entergy employees are working to restore power to those areas by 10 p.m. Monday.
Meanwhile, 421 people in the Jacksonville area are without power, but the cause is unclear. Entergy Arkansas' website states that this power failure occurred at 4:05 p.m., and crews should have power restored to those customers by 5:30 p.m.
