Boozman, Pryor urge Keystone Pipeline approval

— Arkansas’ Senate delegation has joined a coalition of senators from both parties to urge approval of the Keystone Pipeline.

Republican Sen. John Boozman and Democratic Sen. Mark Pryor on Tuesday joined a group of 20 senators who want to see the pipeline get the green light.

The pipeline would move oil from Canada to the Gulf Coast. A segment from Cushing, Okla., to the Texas Gulf Coast recently marked its halfway completion point.

Pryor says failing to approve the northern portion of the pipeline would hurt America’s energy self-sufficiency goals. Boozman says the project will provide jobs and reduce energy prices.
