BENTONVILLE — The mother of an infant boy was arrested Tuesday in connection with injuries the child suffered, resulting in his hospitalization.

Jennie Lynn Warren, 22, is being held in the Benton County jail on $100,000 bond after being charged with domestic battery in the first degree, a Class B felony. Warren lived in the area of Springdale that is in Benton County when the infant was injured.

She faces a possible prison sentence ranging from five to 20 years in prison if convicted. Her arraignment is set for 8 a.m. April 8 in Circuit Judge Brad Karren’s court.

The case stems from when Warren’s then 3-month-old son was taken to the emergency room at Northwest Medical Center-Springdale on Jan. 11. Police responded to the hospital for a report concerning possible physical abuse of the infant, according to court documents.

Det. Robert Hendrix spoke with Dr. Byron Giribaldi, who reported paramedics brought the child to the hospital because he was acting strange, the probable-cause affidavit states.

Giribaldi reported the child was lethargic and had a right-looking gaze, along with abrasions on the right side of his face, according to court documents. A CT scan of the child’s head showed there were bilateral subdural hematomas. Giribaldi said the injuries were consistent with Shaken Baby Syndrome, the affidavit states.

The child was airlifted to Arkansas Children’s Hospital, according to court documents.
