Gov. Beebe intends to grant pardons to 2

— Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe said he plans to grant pardons to two people who were convicted of drug or burglary charges.

Beebe’s office said both people have paid their fines and completed jail time and parole and probationary requirements.

Beebe intends to pardon Terry Dale of Hardeville, S.C., and Floyd E. Gattis, Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla.

The governor’s office said Dale was convicted in Crittenden County of possessing marijuana with the intent to deliver in 1998. Gattis was convicted of burglary in Sebastian County in 1981.

Beebe rejected 36 other clemency requests and didn’t act on 22 others.

The public has 30 days to comment on the governor’s pardon plans before they become official.
