JEFFREY LEE “BUSHY” HUDNALL, 38, of Little Rock passedquietly at his mother’s home on Jan. 3, 2013. Jeffrey was born on Nov. 23, 1974, in Hot Springs, Ark., and was a prominent promoter and visionary in the electronic dance music industry. In the late ’90s, he formed Cybertribe, which produced numerous events featuring top talent from the U.S. and globally. Using the latest in lighting, lasers, and sound engineering, Cybertribe events drew thousands of fans from Arkansas and surrounding states and helped launch the electronic music scene in central Arkansas.

In the last decade, Jeff continued to work tirelessly to build the electronic music scene. He produced and/or promoted events for many local clubs, including Discovery and the Rev Room. He also worked with nationally known deejays, club owners, and promoters from across the country to bring big-market talent and sound to Little Rock fans.

“Everyone in this business knows that Bushy planted the original seeds in the Little Rock electronic dance music scene. What is most important, is that he tended his crop - season after season - and through the good and the bad, what everyone will remember is his undying luv,” says Michael “Big” Brown, a business partner and fellow promoter. Jeff also had a deep love for family and friends.

His gift for joy, a giving spirit, and enthusiasm affected all who knew him. One of his childhood friends, Melynda Muldoon Gidcomb of Hot Springs, wrote, “After 34 years of friendship there will be a lot of things that I miss ...Your bigger than life personality, your bear hugs, your laugh, your infectious smile and deep dimples, your ability to turn anything into a party, our random conversations and ability to pick up right where we left off no matter how much time had gone by, but most of all your genuine spirit.”

Jeff’s cousin, Randa Stevens also wrote, “The best thing about holidays is you get to see family. For thirty years, my cousin Jeff and I have wanted to sit at the ‘kids’ table. This Christmas he hugged me a dozen times - that was just Jeff. He said to me, ‘You are an amazing Mom and you’re doing such a great job’ with his big Jeff smile. He had the ability to make everyone he met feel special.”

He is survived by his mother, Sandra Lee Hudnall of Little Rock and his father Edward C. Hudnall and wife Mary of Bryant and Mary’s mother Mam-Maw; his brother Scott Hudnall of Mayflower and wife Karisa; two beloved nieces Haydyn Lee and Kallie Rose Hudnall; two step-brothers Walt Pigott (Angel, Jon, McKenzie, and Sidney) of Sparkman and Steve Pigott (Kim, Cody, Clint, and Cade) of Monticello. He had numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles who will miss his happy spirit always.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 10, at 1 p.m. at Henderson United Methodist Church (13000 Baseline Road, Little Rock, Ark.) There will be no graveside ceremony. FAYETTEVILLE - Kevin Dwight McCarty, 51, went to be with hisSavior and Lord on Dec. 24, 2012, in San Diego, Calif. He was born Dec. 21, 1961, in Fort Worth, Texas. Kevin grew up in Fayetteville, where his parents were called in 1965 by UniversityBaptist Church for his father to be senior pastor. He graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1981. He loved athletics and music. He won the state high school tennis doubles championship twice and was a skilled drummer and guitarist. He attended both Baylor University and the University of Arkansas. He was, without doubt, a natural-born salesman and began his career selling insurance before he started his own company, Sky Connection, Inc. He was one of the first to see the potential for satellite television and became one of the most-successful Dish dealers in Northwest Arkansas. The Northwest Arkansas Times did a feature on him using his widely known nickname, “The Dishman.” When the satellite market proliferated, he turned to other interests and ventured into upscale bathroom remodeling. He had recently moved to San Diego to begin a promising new sales job. Several vacation trips with his son, Hayden, to San Diego had made the area their favorite location. Of all of Kevin’s ambitions, he loved being a father the most! To the end of his life, his vision, though heavily tested, never wavered to be an overcomer and to follow Christ. He loved Christian worship music and quoted the words and played the music often for his family and friends. It is with a deep and tearful sadness that we give him up. But this is all temporary and the promises of the Savior enable us to focus on our beloved Kevin’s gain rather than our loss! We gratefully possess a confident and abiding joy in his present perfection and fulfillment with his Lord Jesus. He is survived by his parents, H.D. and Shirley McCarty of Fayetteville; his son, Hayden McCarty (16) of Little Rock; and stepson, Landon Friend (20) of Benton; his sister, Karen, and husband Mark Anderson of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; his nephew, Will Anderson, and nieces, Alyssa and Andrea Anderson; Ashley Anderson Lancaster andhusband Dr. Kurt Lancaster, Evy Kate (4) and Liam (2) all of Cape Girardeau. He is also survived by several uncles, aunts and numerous cousins in Texas. The family deeply appreciates all the people who loved, enjoyed, prayed for and encouraged Kevin all of our years in Fayetteville and beyond. We loved him with all of our hearts. We are so deeply thankful and content that our Kevin belonged to the Lord Christ and is now tasting the fullness of the love of God the Father. A private family praise and worship remembrance was held at the Fairview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum on Jan. 5. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all who had special love for Kevin help create what would please him most, a fund in his memory for his beloved son, Hayden. Contributions shouldbe made to the Hayden McCarty Fund in care of Priority Bank; 3401 E. Mission Blvd.; Fayetteville, Ark. 72703. To place an online tribute, visit www.mooresfuneralchapel.com.
