Robbers shoot man, take BMW in Little Rock

— A Little Rock man was shot twice and robbed of his car Sunday during an incident in the 3900 block of Springer Boulevard, authorities said.

Police say Stanley McClain, 38, was shot in the stomach and right arm by two men who then took his 1999 BMW 328. It happened shortly before 5 p.m.

McClain was taken to UAMS Medical Center, where he was listed in serious but stable condition Monday, police said.

Neither of the suspects tied to the shooting were found, but authorities did arrest one man a short time later after finding him in possession of one of McClain's credit cards.

According to a police report, investigators were dispatched about 7:30 p.m. to 22nd and Valmar streets after a vehicle matching McClain's was spotted in the area.

Police later found 22-year-old Andre Wright walking near Charles Bussey Avenue and Valmar Street. A search of his person revealed the credit card, the report said, and he was arrested on a charge of theft by receiving.

The stolen BMW was found empty but running at 19th and Martin streets.
