Storm system predicted to dump rain on state

— The National Weather Service says a storm system moving through the state is expected to drop 2 to 4 inches of rain in parts of Arkansas.

The weather service says the system will move into south Arkansas on Tuesday afternoon and will gradually expand across the area in the evening and overnight hours.

Forecasters say heavy rainfall is possible Wednesday with the storm and that flash flooding may occur in some areas.

Another storm system is predicted to move into Arkansas on Friday and Saturday. Forecasters say there’s a small potential for freezing rain to develop across the higher terrain of western and northern Arkansas.
