NORTH LITTLE ROCK — A Little Rock man is accused of cutting an acquaintance with a knife in an incident the victim described as a robbery, according to a North Little Rock Police Department report.
John Ellis Jefferson-Sanders, 27, is due in court Thursday on a preliminary charge of second-degree battery.
Authorities say they were dispatched to 225 College Park Circle in North Little Rock about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday to a report of an altercation with a knife. There, police saw Jefferson-Sanders punching Frank Eady in the head and repeatedly yelling "give me my money," the report said.
Eady was suffering from a 3-inch-long, half-inch-deep gash in his chin, and a steak knife was on the ground near him.
"[Jefferson-Sanders] advised spontaneously 'Eady snatched my money out of my hand,'" police wrote in the report. "Later he advised 'I stabbed him.'"
Investigators say Eady told them the altercation started when Jefferson-Sanders tried to rob him.
Eady had the disputed money in his pocket when officers arrived. Police say they couldn't determine to which man it belonged.
The report describes the two men as acquaintances.
