WASHINGTON The nation’s largest gun-rights lobby says its meeting at the White House was more about demonizing the Second Amendment than about keeping students safe.
The National Rifle Association met with Vice President Joe Biden’s school safety study group on Thursday and afterward said the participants spent most their time on proposals to limit gun rights. The NRA said it, quote, “will not allow law-abiding gun owners to be blamed for the acts of criminals and madmen.”
The politically powerful group — under public pressure since December’s school shooting in Newtown, Conn., where a gunman massacred 20 children and six women — said it will now work with Congress to discuss what works in preventing violence and what does not.
The NRA previously proposed armed security in every American school.

No surprise here. The White House is fixated on disarmament as national policy, and they will use any tragedy to gain traction on their agenda.

I am tired of hearing that no one needs an assault weapon to hunt! The 2nd Amendement wasn't created for hunting . . . . it was created for us, We, The People, to be able to defend ourselves againt a rogue government. We, the people, have the right to have the same type of weapons as the police force. By taking away our guns, they are also taking away our ability to defend ourselves against criminals - who, will undoubtedly, get these types of guns anyway - ban or no ban.

It's hard to know what works to prevent gun violence because the NRA and their puppets in congress have attached riders to bills over the years preventing the actual study of gun violence. You can't trust people to make the rules who don't want to ever learn the causes of problems.

The NRA does what every other POS lobbyist does in DC. Crap gets attached to every bill and that is why we have a major debt problem

For conspiracy theorists, those in power are seen as deceptive-even malevolent-and so any official explanation is at a disadvantage, and any alternative explanation is more credible from the start
It is no surprise that fear, mistrust, and even paranoia can lead to muddled thinking; when distrust is engaged, careful reasoning can coast on by.
Are you listening LSS, seen any black helicopters today?

Aint, I never for a moment thought that 9/11 was an inside job. I'm not sure why you need to make stuff up about other people in order to make YOUR points, when the TRUTH about YOU is damning enough.
Does ignorance hurt?
