A North Little Rock man was arrested this week after entering the Pulaski County sheriff’s office bearing “a very strong odor of marijuana,” deputies said.
Leotis Rodgers had visited the sheriff’s office Records Division window to pick up a report when workers noticed the smell, according to a sheriff’s office report.
As a deputy passed by Rodgers, the North Little Rock man started to leave the building. Once he exited, the report said, he “started a slow jog” to his vehicle.
The deputy, who had followed Rodgers out of the building, told him that he could smell marijuana emanating from his person, and Rodgers responded that he had “just smoked a ‘blunt’” before visiting the sheriff’s office, the report said.
In searching Rodgers’ vehicle, the deputy found a clear plastic bag with fourteen other “baggies” inside it that contained suspected marijuana, the report said.
Rodgers, 31, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana with the purpose of delivery and possession of a controlled substance within close proximity to certain facilities, deputies said.
He was released from jail on $10,000 bond.
