— Authorities in east Arkansas said a Wynne police officer is missing after falling into the St. Francis River.

Investigators said Saturday the officer was off duty when he fell into the water but have not described how the accident took place. The officer is identified as 24-year-old Nicolas Swink.

Memphis, Tenn., television station WMC reports that searchers set up a post two miles downriver from where Swink disappeared.

Swink’s family members were also taking part in the search.
