LITTLE ROCK Tiffiney Nicole Greer and Steven Richard Carter exchanged marriage vows at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, in St. Luke Baptist Church in North Little Rock. The father of the groom officiated.
Parents of the bride are Lorie and Reginald Clay, 10920 King Arthurs Court, and Mark B. Greer of Fayetteville. Her grandparents are Mary Ann and the late Osie Cobbs of Sweet Home, Wilma Walker of College Station, Harves Hopper of Little Rock and Etha Brown and the late Arthur Clay, both of Sacramento, Calif.
The groom is the son of Carolyn and the Rev. Jodie T. Carter, 5921 Timberview Road. He is the grandson of Gertha and the late Ernest Richard of Little Rock and the late Betsy Mae and Jimmy Carter of Brush Island.
The chancel was decorated with cylinders holding rose petals and floating candles. Music was by Hilton Taylor and vocalists Caren Campbell and LaShawnDa Noel.
Given in marriage by her stepfather, the bride wore an ivory strapless satin gown embellished with crystal- and pearl-beaded embroidery. The mermaid-style gown had a sweetheart neckline and draped skirt. She carried fuchsia dendrobium orchidsand fuchsia, purple and white roses.
Serving as the bride’s honor attendants were Adrian Thompson of Alexander and Joycelyn Bell of Little Rock. Bridesmaids were Erica Cobbs of Sweet Home; Renette Richard and Camille Richard, both of Atlanta; and Gwendolyn Reed of Arkadelphia. They wore eggplant-colored satin strapless dresses with sweetheart necklines and Empire waists embellished with floral rhinestone clusters. They carried fuchsia roses.
Flower girl and ring bearer were Madison Thompson of Little Rock, cousin of the bride, and Jayden Smith of North Little Rock, nephew of the groom.
Deon King of Atlanta was best man. Groomsmen were Roy Wesley of Camden; Michael Barnes of Arkadelphia; DuCorey Shaw of Benton; Kelton Lyons of Houston; Tracy Applegate of Maumelle; and Xaviar Clay of Little Rock, brother of the bride.
A reception at the Little Rock Club followed the ceremony. Guesttables were covered in eggplant or fuchsia cloths and centered with short cylinders holding pillar candles set in arrangements of ruby stock, orchids, roses and white hydrangea or tall cylinders filled with wedding flowers.
The bride received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, where she was a member of the Heart and Key Honorary Society, president of the Theta Eta chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha and named an outstanding graduating senior. She hasa master’s degree in human genetics from Howard University in Washington, where she received the Howard University Trustee Scholarship. She is a genetics counselor.
The groom has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from HSU, where he was president of the Theta Alpha chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi. He is pursuing a master’s degree in business administration through Webster University. He is a banker.
The couple will reside in Fresno, Calif., after a honeymoon in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
