— Arkansas couldn’t slow down one of the SEC’s best offenses Sunday.

The Arkansas women’s basketball team allowed a season high in points in its 78-58 loss to Vanderbilt at Memorial Gymnasium.

It was the second consecutive loss and third in four games since starting the SEC schedule for the Razorbacks (13-4, 1-3).

Vanderbilt (13-4, 3-1) was led by Jasmine Lister’s 19points, with four more Commodores scoring at least 10 points. The Commodores shot 60.9 percent (14 of 23) from the floor in the first half to take a 43-29 lead and shot 56 percent (28 of 50) for the game.

Christian Foggie scored 18 points, Tiffany Clarke 15 and Elan Brown had 10 for the Commodores, who came into the game shooting 44.8 percent from the field, third best in the SEC.

“They are a team that executes,” Arkansas Coach Tom Collen said. “They did their job and made shots and are hard to stop.”

Arkansas led 8-4 early, but Vanderbilt outscored Arkansas 12-0 to make it 16-8 with 13:09 left, and Vanderbilt’s lead grew to 27-17 with 8:24 left.

Arkansas (1-13 vs. Vanderbilt in Nashville) trailed by as much as 54-30 in the second half never got closer than 15 points the rest of the way.

Vanderbilt was playing three days after losing 64-48 at South Carolina, a defeat that ended a nine-game winning streak.

“We executed really well on offense, shared the basketball,” Vanderbilt Coach Melanie Balcomb said. “Played smart, took care of the ball in the second half. And our defense, we were able to make them shoot poorly. Pretty much went back to playing the way we did until we hit South Carolina.”

Quistelle Williams scored 16 points and Sarah Watkins had 10 for Arkansas, which shot 37.3 percent (25 of 67) and was 1 of 15 on three-point attempts.

NO. 6 KENTUCKY 69, MISSOURI 43

COLUMBIA, Mo. - DeNesha Stallworth scored 17 points and A’dia Mathies added 14 to help Kentucky extend its school record winning streak to 15 games with a victory over Missouri.

The Wildcats (16-1, 4-0 SEC) scored the game’s first six points and never trailed, winning their 16th game this season by at least 18 points.

Sydney Crafton led Missouri (12-6, 1-3) with 11 points and 9 rebounds.

NO. 13 GEORGIA 42, NO. 18 SOUTH CAROLINA 40

ATHENS, Ga. - Jasmine Hassell scored19 points as Georgia outlasted South Carolina on Sunday to post its lowest winning point total in school history.

South Carolina (14-3, 2-2 SEC), got 19 points from Aleighsa Welch, but the Gamecocks were held to one field goal in the last 13 minutes.

Tiffany Mitchell’s short jumper with 1:12 left was South Carolina’s first field goal of since the 13:57 mark and cut Georgia’s lead to three.

Georgia (15-2, 3-1) threw the ball away, and Sancheon White’s free throws cut the deficit to 41-40 with 44.6 seconds showing.

NO. 9 TENNESSEE 78, FLORIDA 75, OT

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Meighan Simmons scored 27 points, Bashaara Graves added 17 points and 15 rebounds, and Tennessee beat Florida in overtime Sunday, snapping the Gators’ 15-game winning streak at home.

The Gators (13-5, 2-2 SEC) battled back from a nine-point deficit in the second half and took the lead on January Miller’s jumper in the lane with 29 seconds remaining. But Graves drew a foul on the other end, and sent the game into overtime with a free throw.

NO. 20 TEXAS A&M 78, AUBURN 56

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Kelsey Bone had 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead Texas A&M to a victory over Auburn on Sunday.

Kristi Bellock had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Aggies (13-5, 3-1 SEC).

Hasina Muhammad led Auburn (13-4, 2-2) with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Tyrese Tanner added 15 points for the Tigers.

ALABAMA 83, OLE MISS 75

OXFORD, Miss. - Kaneisha Horn had 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists to help Alabama to a victory over Ole Miss (7-1, 0-4).

Meghan Perkins added 15 points, Shafontaye Meyers had 14, Daisha Simmons scored 11 and Jasmine Robinson added 10 for Alabama (11-6, 1-3), which led from start to finish.

LSU 62, MISSISSIPPI STATE 42

BATON ROUGE - Adrienne Webb scored 28 points to help LSU to a home victory Sunday.

Webb made 9 of 14 shots and was 6 of 6 from the free-throw line for LSU (11-6, 2-2), which led by as many as 27 points and never trailed.

Martha Alwal led Mississippi State (8-9, 0-4) with 17 points and 14 rebounds.
