10 MEMORIAL The commemorations of the Civil War continue as the Arkansas Post Museum State Park and Arkansas Post National Memorial, both near Gillett, remember the battle of Arkansas Post, which took place Jan. 9-11, 1863. Activities include soldier camps, interpretive programs, children’s activities, a period ball and a memorial service.
The camps open at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. General admission is free. Visitors are asked to park at designated spots in Gillett and ride the shuttle to the parks. Call (870) 548-2207.
