Little Rock adds two storm-debris drop-off locations

— The city of Little Rock is adding two locations for residents to drop off storm debris from the Christmas winter weather.

City officials said locations will be added at Interstate Park and Reservoir Park. The drop-off at Interstate Park, located off Arch Street south of Roosevelt Road, will be in parking lot inside the park. The drop-off at Reservoir Park, located off Cantrell Road and east of Reservoir Road, will be in a parking lot by the baseball field.

Officials said the locations will have a designated spot to place debris and an on-site city employee to answer any questions. Signs will be visible in both parks to direct residents to the drop-off locations.

The storm debris drop-off locations are open only for Little Rock residents.

The drop-offs will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday but will be closed Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday.

Officials said the Christmas winter storm created an estimated 22,000 tons of debris. About 3,000 tons of the debris have been hauled off thus far.
