Report released on plane crash that killed 4

By The Associated Press

This article was published January 18, 2013 at 11:17 a.m.

— An investigative report into a plane crash that killed two Oklahoma State University basketball coaches and a couple ferrying them to Arkansas for a recruiting trip leaves questions unanswered about why the plane crashed.

The National Transportation Safety Board report released this week comes more than a year after the single-engine plane crashed near Perryville in November 2011.

OSU women’s basketball coach Kurt Budke and assistant coach Miranda Serna died in the crash on their way from Stillwater, Okla., to Little Rock, where they planned to scout prospective recruits.

The pilot, former Oklahoma lawmaker Olin Branstetter, and his wife, Paula, also died in the crash.

A probable cause report is expected to come out in about three months.
