— Laura Elizabeth Marks and Matthew Aaron Kahle exchanged marriage vows at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, in St. Edward Catholic Church with Monsignor Lawrence Frederick officiating.

Parents of the bride are Nancy Marks and Dr. Stephen Marks, both of Little Rock. Her grandparents are Marilyn and the late William E. Hastings of North Little Rock and Elizabeth Ann and the late V. Waner Marks of Little Rock.

Terralyn and Michael Kahle of Jackson, Mo., are the parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Gerald and Margaret Ubl of Columbia, Mo., and Juanita Kahle of Jefferson City, Mo.

Nuptial music was by organist Phillip Quick.

The bride, escorted by her parents, wore an ivory re-embroidered Alencon lace gown by Watters and Watters. The fitted bodice was tied at the waist with an oatmeal satin ribbon and the fluted skirt extended to a sweep train. She carried a bouquet of all white stephanotis, hydrangeas, roses, stock and freesia.

Serving as her sister’s maid of honor was Christine Marie Marks of Fayetteville. Bridesmaids were Whitney Cole of Washington; Lindsay Knittle of Lebanon, N.H.; Diane Montgomery of Columbia, S.C.; Ashley Ringler of Orlando, Fla.; and Leigh Ann Veach of Russellville. They wore black cocktail dresses in the style of their choice and carried bouquets of hydrangeas, roses,stock and freesia.

Flower girl and ring bearer were Whitney Goodwin and Sawyer Goodwin of Jackson.

Michael Lynn Goodwin of Jackson was best man. Groomsmen were Matthew Fulbright of Kirkwood, Mo.; Phillip Marks of Little Rock, brother of the bride; and Ronnie Maxwell and Dr. Stuart McIntosh, both of Jackson.

Guests were seated by Matthew Marks and Daniel Marks, both of Little Rock and brothers of the bride.

A reception at Lafayette Square followed the ceremony. Guest tables were centered with different arrangements of wedding flowers including roses, lilies and genestra. The buffet held three tall white cylinders of branches. Music was by the Big John Miller Band.

The bride is a graduate of the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics. She received a master’s degree in nutrition and physical performance from St. Louis University. She is a registered dietitian with Arkansas Children’s Hospital specializing in pulmonary and cystic fibrosis.

The groom has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Southeast Missouri State University. He is a registered nurse in the Baptist Health cardiac catheterization lab.

The couple will make their home in Little Rock after a wedding trip to Great Exuma, Bahamas.
