LITTLE ROCK — The women's basketball team for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock is set for its annual "Pink Game Night" on Jan. 30 to raise breast cancer awareness.
A release from the university says the team will don pink uniforms, warm-ups and accessories during its game against Louisiana Tech, which is set for a 7 p.m. tip-off at UALR's Jack Stephens Center.
Five breast cancer survivors with ties to UALR will be honored during the starting line-up announcements and at halftime, the release states.
Commemorative pink and silver shirts will be sold during the game with the proceeds going toward the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. A raffle will also be held for a pink Nikon camera, a pink backpack with UALR-themed items and a pink basketball signed by the UALR Trojan basketball team. Those proceeds will also go to the Yow Cancer Fund.
UALR students who attend will be entered for a chance to win an iPad mini and will also receive a free hot dog and soda.
Tickets may be purchased through UALR by calling (501) 565-8257 or visiting UALRTrojans.com.
