McMurtry, Ossana coming to LR after Literary Festival

LITTLE ROCK — Larry McMurtry and Diana Ossana will appear at a pair of Arkansas Literary Festival events in May, just two weeks after the annual festival hosts dozens of authors in and around Little Rock, organizers announced Thursday.
McMurtry has written more than 40 novels, biographies and collections, including the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel Lonesome Dove. Ossana is a frequent collaborator with McMurtry with the pair writing two novels and more than 30 film scripts together, including the Academy Award-winning Brokeback Mountain.
On May 2, the pair will headline a fundraising event. The next day, a free book reading will be scheduled.
Those events come just two weeks after the annual festival, which runs April 18-21.
The full literary festival schedule will be announced in March but organizers Thursday released a full list of authors who will take part, including novelist Kevin Brockmeier; artist Drew Cameron; Oxford American editor Ty Jaeger; national columnist Leonard Pitts Jr. and many more.
