U-verse disruptions few, AT&T reports

AT&T U-verse customers in Arkansas and other Southeastern states were still experiencing service problems Wednesday, the company said.

The service failures, which have been attributed to a server problem, began Monday evening and affect fewer than 1 percent of the company’s 7.4 million television and Internet subscribers, said Anita Smith, a spokesman for AT&T, in an e-mailed prepared statement.

“This issue currently affects less than 1 percent of our U-verse subscribers, but that is too many and we are working hard to fix this. We are making progress in resolving the issue which is related to a server complex, and are working to determine when service will be completely restored. We apologize for this inconvenience.”

The U-verse service includes telephone, digital television and broadband Internet access.
